Who You Are
You have extensive experience and knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) policy and practice, including the SEN Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014. You are familiar with Camden's local SEND policies and dedicated to supporting and co-producing Education Health and Care (EHC) plans with families and young people. You are skilled in managing sensitive situations with various partners and are committed to making a positive impact on children and young people with SEND. Your approach is person-centered, and you value diversity, inclusion, and the voice of young individuals in decision-making processes.
What the Job Involves
The role involves developing, maintaining, and reviewing Education Health and Care Plans, working closely with families, schools, and partners to support children and young people with SEND. Responsibilities include ensuring holistic plans are in place, collaborating with educational and healthcare professionals, and facilitating planning meetings. The job also entails overseeing children with Exceptional Needs Grants and negotiating placements for those with EHC plans. You will uphold high-quality record-keeping and provide mentoring support to others in the field. The role requires community engagement within Camden and managing a case load efficiently.
