A compassionate and skilled professional dedicated to preventing homelessness. You have a deep understanding of housing legislation, particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Act 1996, and possess strong negotiation, mediation, and advocacy skills. You are organized, able to handle a complex caseload, and committed to providing exceptional customer service in a challenging environment.
What the job involves
Based at Camberwell Foyer, you will work proactively to prevent and relieve homelessness. This involves conducting housing needs assessments, creating individualized housing plans, and exploring all housing options. You will handle a diverse caseload, provide front-line housing advice, and perform home visits as necessary. The role includes delivering a comprehensive service via drop-in, appointments, and a telephone advice line. You will assess temporary accommodation needs, provide tenancy advice, and engage with stakeholders to support affected tenants. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of housing options, homelessness law, welfare rights, and working within council guidelines.
