Who You Are
You are a passionate and ambitious individual with a commitment to support the communities of St Helens Borough. As a qualified Senior Social Worker/Social Worker/ASYE, you possess a Social Work qualification such as CQSW, DIPSW, CSS, or a Degree in Social Work, and are registered with Social Work England. You have experience in conducting Social Care Assessments, identifying eligible needs, and engaging in the Care Planning Process, and are adept at working with individuals aged 67+ with various support needs. Your understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and ability to act as an Enquiry Practitioner in Safeguarding Adult cases is crucial for this role.
What the Job Involves
Working as a Social Worker in the Later Life Team at St Helens Borough Council, you will engage with individuals aged 67+ who have Physical and Sensory Disabilities, Mental Health problems, Dementia, or age-related support needs. Your role will include conducting Social Care Assessments, identifying eligible needs and outcomes, planning care, and identifying and assessing carers. You will participate as an Enquiry Practitioner in Safeguarding Adult cases and make Best Interest Decisions under the Mental Capacity Act. You will have access to a supportive team providing regular supervision, training, and appraisals. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory for this role.
