Job Description: Gardener

Who You Are

You are a dedicated and skilled gardener with a strong background in practical amenity horticulture. You either hold an NVQ stage 1 in Horticulture or have a minimum of two years' proven practical experience in grounds maintenance work. A current, full UK driving license and a spraying certificate are essential. You possess a pleasant manner, positive attitude, and are both punctual and reliable. You have a flexible approach to work and can operate independently or as part of a team.

What the job involves

As a Gardener, you will perform tasks as directed to maintain high horticultural standards. Your responsibilities include grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, the planting of bedding plants, trees, shrubs, and general soft landscaping works. You will maintain sports facilities and use chemicals as necessary. Ensuring the vehicles, plant, and machinery are in good working order, you will report defects and comply with health and safety regulations. You will also work outdoors in various weather conditions and locations within the city boundary.
